In the Garden – Park Seed Co.

This is a sponsored post written by Misty Meadows Homestead on behalf of Park Seed Co..  Product samples were provided to facilitate this story, but the opinions and text are all ours.

We are super excited to be teaming up with Park Seed Company

Over the summer a Park Seed representative contacted us asking if we might be interested in trying some of their seeds and sharing the results with our social media following.

Heck yes!

So, let us give you a little history on Park Seed.

Founded in 1868 by 15-year-old George W. Park who began selling seeds, he had harvested from his garden to friends and family, they are one of the oldest and largest seed/plant mail-order companies in the U.S.

Currently located in Hodges, SC, they have 150 years of experience “bringing the joys of gardening to as many people as possible”!

Though they are a large company, their selection seems fairly mainstream. They are reasonably priced and shipping is currently $2.99.

You can get a copy of their seed catalog here.

Not only did they send us vegetable seeds, they were kind enough to send us some special seeds AND plants especially for our honey bees! The seeds arrived in waterproof packaging, which is helpful as Ms. Misty isn’t always careful with water in the green house and garden.

We look forward to planting the seeds and sharing with you what we believe will be a wonderful experience.

Side note, you may have noticed Park Seed Co. didn’t make our favorite seed catalogs list. This is because they have not signed the Safe Seed Pledge, pledging to not knowingly buy, sell or trade genetically engineered seeds or plants. This isn’t necessarily a deal breaker, but we do want our reader to be aware of this.

Happy Gardening!
